White Sox at Royals 8/1/20 - MLB Picks & Predictions

AL Central Division foes will battle on Saturday night, when the Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals continue their weekend series from Kauffman Stadium. In the series opener, OF Adam Engel’s three-run blast was all the offense Chicago would need to earn a 3-2 victory. SP Dallas Keuchel (2-0) allowed two runs over five plus frames for the White Sox, who are a game below .500.

Thirty-four year old southpaw Gio Gonzalez (0-0 14.73 ERA) will take the mound for the White Sox in this matchup. Last time out, Gonzalez was shelled for six runs in three plus innings during a 14-2 home loss versus Minnesota.

The Kansas City Royals have dropped five of their first eight games and were unsuccessful in their home opener on Friday. Rookie SP Kris Bubic took a loss in his major league debut after giving up three runs in four innings. 3B Ryan McBroom doubled and homered in a losing effort for the Royals.

Kansas City manager Mike Matheny has yet to name a starting pitcher for this game. Through eight games, the Royals rank 15th in the league with a 4.05 team ERA and a respectable 1.22 WHIP.

Chicago OF Nomar Mazara (illness) has begun a rehab assignment at the White Sox’s alternative training site. Through seven games, Chicago ranks 8th in OPS and 14th in runs scored. Kansas City comes into this game with an offense that ranks 21st in OPS and 12th in runs scored. Take the over to cash on Saturday. Final Score Prediction, Chicago White Sox 7-6.
