The Chicago White Sox open a three-game series on the road Friday against the Seattle Mariners. The White Sox lost on Wednesday to the Kansas City Royals 8-6. White sox rookie slugger Eloy Jimenez homered in the loss and knocked in four runs, while Jose Abreu went yard with a two-run dinger. Reynaldo Lopez fell to 9-12 after allowing nine hits and six runs over 4 2/3 innings.

Seattle won its second straight with a 5-3 victory on Wednesday over the Cincinnati Reds. Lyle Lewis homered for Seattle breaking up another bid for a no-hitter for the Reds for the second straight game. The Mariners defeated the hot-pitching Sonny Gray. Lewis’ home run was a three-run shot in the seventh and just his second hit in the majors.

Tim Anderson leads Chicago with a .333 batting average. Jose Abreu is the team leader in home runs with 32, RBIs with 114 and in hits with 161. Chicago is batting .256 while its opponents are averaging .264. On Friday, the White Sox will send Dylan Covey to the mound. The right-hander is 1-8 with an ERA of 7.69, 39 Ks and25 BBs.

Omar Narvaez is leading Seattle with a .275. Daniel Vogelbach is the home run leader with 30 and RBIs leader with 74. Seattle is averaging .239 at the plate while opposing hitters are averaging .268.
