The Tuesday MLB schedule will get underway with a matchup between the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians from Progressive Field. On Memorial Day, the White Sox committed three errors during a 9-6 road loss against the Indians. Tim Anderson hit his 11th home run of the season for Chicago, who fell to 16-35 on the season.
Twenty-three year old righty Lucas Giolito (3-5 7.53 ERA) will make his 11th start for the White Sox. Through 49 innings of work, Giolito has struck out just 27 batters and owns a subpar 1.71 WHIP.
The Cleveland Indians have won three straight games and have exploded for 27 runs over that stretch. On Monday, Edwin Encarnacion went deep and drove in four runs to power Cleveland’s offense. Francisco Lindor added three hits and a run scored for the Indians, who lead the AL Central Division by 3.5 games over Detroit.
The Indians will counter with twenty-seven year old righty Mike Clevinger (3-2 3.32 ERA) on Tuesday. Clevinger has lost consecutive starts and has given up eight runs over his last 11 plus innings of work.
