The Miami Marlins are looking to snap a seven-game streak and are sitting in last place. On Sunday, Miami managed just three hits and struck out nine times during a 3-1 road loss against Cincinnati. SP Sandy Alcantara (7-12) allowed two runs in seven innings and took the loss for the Marlins, who dropped to 51-74 on the year.
The Marlins will counter with twenty-three year old southpaw Jesus Luzardo (4-6 7.76 ERA) in the series opener. In four starts since being traded to Miami, Luzardo has been tagged for 19 runs in just 17 plus innings.
