Two Game MLB Parlay for Tonight - Monday 8/31/20

Last Updated: 08/30/2020 at 8:51 PM ET

Major League Baseball teams have played half of their 60-game abbreviated season and two division races in the American League are taking shape as two teams battle in the AL East and three teams battle out in the AL Central. First place takes on second place in the AL East on Monday while second place meets third place in the AL Central makes for an excellent two-game parlay.

Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees, NYY -160; O/U 9.5

The first place Tampa Bay Rays visit the second place New York Yankees for a showdown in the Bronx on Monday. Tampa Bay arrives riding a five-game winning streak and holding a four-game lead over the second-place Yankees after defeating the Miami Marlins on Sunday 12-7. Tampa Bay has now won 12 of its last 14. The Yankees won their second straight over the New York Mets on Sunday 8-7 to keep pace with Tampa Bay but the Bronx bombers have lost seven of their last nine. Top right-handers take the mound for each team, as Tampa Bay will send Tyler Glasnow, who is 1-1 with an ERA of 5.14 and the Yankees will counter with right-hander Gerrit Cole, who is 4-1 with an ERA of 3.51. Slight advantage here goes to the Yankees as they will be playing at home and have their ace on the mound even though Cole was beat up in his last outing by the Atlanta Braves.

1st Part of MLB Parlay: New York Yankees -160

Chicago White Sox at Minnesota Twins: CHW -150; O/U 8.5

The Chicago White Sox visit the Minnesota Twins on Monday for an American League Central showdown. The White Sox arrive in Minneapolis tied for first place with the Cleveland Indians, while the Minnesota Twins are 1 ½ games back in third place. The White Sox have won four of the last five and 11 of the last 13 to climb to the top of the AL Central. In contrast, the Twins have lost each of their last five. This will be a big letdown game, as White Sox starter Lucas Giolito is coming off a no-hitter on August 25th over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Giolito has not faced the Twins this season but will have in the back of his mind last July when he served up four home runs including three to designated hitter Nelson Cruz in a 10-3 loss to the Twins. Giolito gave up seven runs on seven hits in just five innings and look for the same trend on Monday with a Twins home run derby win at Target Field.
