Twins at Yankees 10/5/19 - MLB Playoffs Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 10/05/2019 at 1:27 AM ET

Game Two of the ALDS between the Minnesota Twins and the New York Yankees will take place on Saturday afternoon from the Bronx. Last night, Minnesota’s bullpen was roughed up for seven runs and recorded just 12 outs during a 10-4 road loss. Nelson Cruz and Jorge Polanco each went deep in a losing effort for the Twins.

Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli has yet to name a starting pitcher for this matchup. His most likely choice is Jake Odorizzi (15-7 3.51 ERA), who allowed just 17 runs over his last nine starts.

The New York Yankees scored the most runs in the majors this season and appear to be headed on a collision course to face Houston in the ALCS. On Friday, All-Star D.J. LeMahieu had three hits and drove in four runs out of the leadoff spot. Giancarlo Stanton drew three of New York’s eight walks on the night.

Thirty year old right-hander Masahiro Tanaka (11-9 4.45 ERA) will get the nod for the Yankees in Game Two. Tanaka was much better at home this season, where he was 8-3 with a 3.10 ERA.

New York SP C.C. Sabathia is dealing with a shoulder injury and was left off the ALDS roster. Through 162 regular season games, Minnesota ranked 2nd in OPS and 2nd in runs scored. For the season, New York ranked 3rd in OPS and 1st in runs scored. Take the Yankees to slug their way to another victory. Final Score Prediction, New York Yankees win 6-4.
