Twins at Indians 8/7/18 - MLB Picks & Predictions

In Tuesday night MLB action, the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians will continue their series from Progressive Field. Last night, Minnesota’s offense managed just three hits during a lopsided 10-0 defeat. SP Kyle Gibson was tagged for six runs in five innings for the Twins, who fell to seven games below .500 overall.

Minnesota manager Paul Molitor will turn to twenty-five year old righty Adalberto Mejia (1-0 2.60 ERA) in this matchup. Through 17 plus innings, Mejia has allowed one home runs and owns a 1.38 WHIP. The Cleveland Indians have won three straight games and are starting to pull away from the AL Central Division. On Monday, All-Star SP Trevor Bauer struck out 11 batters across six frames to improve his record to 11-6 on the year. Edwin Encarnacion homered and drove in four runs for the Indians, who lead the Twins by 10 games for first place.

The Indians will counter with talented right-hander Carlos Carrasco (13-5 3.66 ERA) on Tuesday night. Cleveland has won each of Carrasco’s last five starts and he has allowed just seven runs total over that stretch.

Cleveland OF Lonnie Chisenhall (calf) has progressed to running on a treadmill and hopes to return next month. Through 111 games, Minnesota ranks 18th in batting average and 19th in runs scored. For the season, Cleveland ranks 4th in batting average and 4th in runs scored. Look for the under to cash on Tuesday. Final Score Prediction, Cleveland Indians win under game 4-2.
