Twins at Indians 7/14/19 - MLB Picks & Predictions

The Minnesota Twins will go for the sweep when they battle the Cleveland Indians from Progressive Field on Sunday afternoon. Last night, Minnesota plated three runs over the final two innings to pull away for a 6-2 road victory. Max Kepler hit two solo shots and Jake Cave drove in three runs for the Twins, who moved to 25 games above .500 overall.

Twenty-five year old righty Jose Berrios (8-5 3.00 ERA) will head to the hill for the Twins in this contest. Berrios is winless in his last five starts and has given up ten runs over his last 32 innings of work. Things have not gone as planned this series and for much of this season for the Cleveland Indians. On Saturday, Cleveland’s subpar offense managed just five hits in defeat. Jose Ramirez and Bobby Bradley each went deep for the Indians, who trail the Twins by 7.5 games for the top spot in the AL Central Division standings.

Twenty-four year old righty Shane Bieber (8-3 3.45 ERA) is quietly putting together a solid season for the Indians. Through 112 plus innings, Bieber has struck out 141 batters and ranks third in the American League with a 1.01 WHIP.

Cleveland SP Corey Kluber (arm) is nearing a bullpen session and could rejoin the rotation by the middle of next month. Through 91 games, Minnesota ranks 1st in OPS and 2nd in runs scored. For the season, Cleveland ranks 20th in OPS and 21st in runs scored. Take the Indians to salvage the final game of this series. Final Score Prediction, Cleveland Indians win 5-3.
