AL Central Division rivals will meet on Sunday afternoon, when the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians wrap up their weekend series from Progressive Field. On Saturday, Eddie Rosario had four hits and scored four times during a 9-3 victory over the Indians. RP Matt Magill threw three perfect innings to earn the win for Minnesota, who trails Cleveland by four games for first place.
Twenty-eight year old righty Jake Odorizzi (3-3 4.19 ERA) will head to the hill for the Twins in this contest. Last time out, Odorizzi allowed four hits and two runs over five innings of a 6-4 victory at Detroit.
Despite every team in the AL Central having a sub .500 record, the Cleveland Indians have been unable to distance themselves from the field. On Saturday, SP Carlos Carrasco allowed four runs and recorded just four outs before exiting from the game as the result of being hit by a line drive. Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez each went deep for the Indians, who lead Detroit by 2.5 games for first place.
Cleveland skipper Terry Francona will turn to right-hander Adam Plutko (3-1 5.09 ERA) in the series finale. Through 23 innings this season, Plutko has surrendered seven home runs and sports a 1.30 WHIP.
