Last Updated: 12/21/2020 at 7:31 AM ET

In Tuesday night MLB action, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Washington Nationals will battle from the nation’s capital. Last night, OF Teoscar Hernandez crushed two of Toronto’s four solo home runs during a 4-1 victory. DH Rowdy Tellez and C Danny Jansen also went deep for the Blue Jays, who have split their first four games overall.

Thirty-three year old righty Tanner Roark (10-10 4.35 ERA) will face his former team on Tuesday night. In six seasons with Washington, Roark won 64 games and he owns a 3.71 career ERA.

The World Series Champion Washington Nationals have dropped three of their first four games and are searching for some pop on offense. During last night’s loss, C Kurt Suzuki’s double was the only extra base hit out of Washington’s 11 base knocks. SP Anibal Sanchez (0-1) gave up six hits and four runs in five innings and took the loss.

The Nationals will counter with twenty-eight year old righty Austin Voth (2-1 3.30 ERA) in this game. Voth has made ten career major league starts and has posted a solid 1.14 WHIP.

Washington OF Juan Soto (COVID-19) still needs one more negative test before he can return to the lineup. Last season, Toronto ranked 23rd in OPS and 23rd in runs scored. Washington comes into this game with an offense that ranked 6th in OPS and 6th in runs scored in 2019. Take the over on Tuesday. Final Score Prediction, Washington Nationals win 7-5.
