Toronto Blue Jays at Boston Red Sox 6/14/21 - MLB Picks & Predictions

AL East Division rivals will square off on Monday night, when the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox wrap up a four-game series from Fenway Park. On Sunday, OF Teoscar Hernandez homered twice and drove in six runs to power Toronto to an 18-4 road triumph against Boston. 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added his major league leading 21st home run for the Blue Jays (33-30).

Rookie right-hander Alek Manoah (1-0 3.14 ERA) will make his fourth career major league start for the Blue Jays. Control has been an issue for Manoah, who has walked seven batters and surrendered three long balls through 14 plus frames.

The Boston Red Sox are two games above .500 at home and trail Tampa Bay by three full games for first place. During yesterday’s ugly home loss, SP Martin Perez (4-4) was tagged for five runs in one plus innings and took the loss. Ryan Weber was roughed up for 13 hits and 11 runs in five plus innings of relief for the Red Sox (39-27).

The Red Sox will counter with hard-throwing righty Nathan Eovaldi (7-3 4.11 ERA) in the series finale. Last time out, Eovaldi was tagged for 11 hits and five runs during an 8-3 home loss versus Houston.

Toronto OF George Springer (leg) is currently on the 10-day injured list and has played in just four games so far this season. Through 63 games, Toronto ranks 2nd in OPS and 8th in runs scored. For the season, Boston ranks 6th in OPS and 4th in runs scored. Take the Red Sox to win at home. Final Score Prediction, Boston Red Sox win 6-4.
