Toronto Blue Jays at Baltimore Orioles 10/5/22 - MLB Picks & Predictions

In the second game of a Wednesday MLB doubleheader, the Toronto Blue Jays will take on the Baltimore Orioles from Camden Yards. The Blue Jays (91-69) are riding a four-game winning streak and have clinched the top AL Wild Card spot. On Monday, All-Star 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his 32nd home run of the year during a 5-1 road victory against Baltimore.

Toronto manager John Schneider has yet to name a starting pitcher for this game. The Blue Jays rank in the middle of the pack with a 3.88 team ERA and a collective 1.24 WHIP.

The Baltimore Orioles are nine games above .500 at home and fell short in their quest for the postseason. During Monday's home loss, Baltimore was limited to three hits and falied to produce an extra-base knock. SP Dean Kremer (8-7) gave up four runs (3 ER) in six innings and took the loss for the Orioles, who fell to 82-78 overall.

Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde has not announced a starting pitcher for the second game of the doubleheader. The Orioles have made plenty of improvement on a staff that ranks 18th in the majors with a 3.97 team ERA.

Toronto OF Lourdes Gurriel (hamstring) has ramped up his activities and hopes to return for the postseason. Through 160 games, Toronto ranks 2nd in OPS and 4th in runs scored. For the season, Baltimore ranks 19th in OPS and 20th in runs scored. Take the Orioles to win at home. Final Score Prediction, Baltimore Orioles win 5-3.
