Top 5 Starting Pitchers 2020 - MLB Picks & Predictions

With baseball projected to resume next month it is very easy to start getting excited about the upcoming season. Now, it is time to find out which of the starting pitchers you should be keeping your eyes on in 2020. With that being the case, here is our list of the top 5 starting pitchers for 2020.

Max Scherzer is one of the starting pitchers that has been a  great pitcher most of the years in the past. Now, Scherzer is coming into the season looking to improve on the struggles that he had last year at various points, but a rebound year is a distinct possibility here. Last season Scherzer threw in 27 games and posted an 11-7 record with a 2.92 ERA.

Luis Castillo is not really a pitcher that a lot of people have heard of before, but that is mainly because he pitches for the Reds. However, last season anytime that Castillo went onto the mound the Reds were almost guaranteed to get a win. Last season Castillo threw in32 games and posted a 15-8 record with a 3.40 ERA.

Patrick Corbin is another pitcher for the Washington Nationals, but that is just how stacked the Nationals pitching staff is heading into this season. Last year Corbin showed some improvement over the 2018 season. This improvement, seen Corbin throw in 33 games and post a 14-7record with a 3.25 ERA on the year.

Now, the Nationals actually landed a third starting pitcher that is going to help the team out quite a bit and easily show the Nationals dominance for starting pitchers. That is because the Nationals also have Stephen Strasburg who has been able to dominate in the past few years. Look for this to continue this year as he builds upon last year. Last season Strasburg threw in 33 games and posted an 18-6 record with a 3.32 ERA.

The American League only has one of the top 5 starting pitchers coming into the 2020 season and he actually comes from the Tampa Bay Rays in Tyler Glasnow. Last year Glasnow did not pitch a ton as he only threw in 12 games,  but in those games was a dominate force with a 6-1 record and posted a 1.78 ERA.
