The Saturday MLB schedule will get underway with a matchup between the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees from the Bronx. Last night, the Tigers blew an early three-run lead during a 7-5 defeat. Dawel Lugo had three hits and scored a run for Detroit, who had 12 hits on the evening.

Detroit manager Ron Gardenhire has yet to name a starting pitcher for this matchup. The Tigers rank 23rd in the majors with a 4.55 team ERA and 25th with 55 quality starts.
The New York Yankees have a youthful lineup and continue to have difficulty getting off to early starts. On Friday, New York exploded for three home runs during the sixth inning to take a 4-3 lead. Gleyber Torres delivered a two-run single in the eighth inning to put the Yankees ahead for good. New York is 35 games above .500 overall and trails Boston by eight games for the AL East Division lead.

New York will counter with twenty-nine year old righty Masahiro Tanaka (9-5 3.97 ERA) on Saturday. Tanaka is winless in his last five starts and has been tagged for 14 runs total over that stretch.

New York OF Aaron Judge (wrist) still has not swung a bat and does not have a timetable to return. Through 135 games, Detroit ranks 24th in batting average and 28th in runs scored. For the season, New York ranks 11th in batting average and 2nd in runs scored. The over has cashed on consecutive nights and will do so again. Final Score Prediction, New York Yankees win high scoring game 7-5.
