The Friday MLB schedule will get underway with a matchup between the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees from the Bronx. Last night, Detroit scored three runs in the ninth inning to rally for a shocking 8-7 victory against New York. Victor Martinez tied the game with a two-run blast and Niko Goodrum provided the winning margin with a solo shot.

Thirty-two year old righty Jordan Zimmerman (6-6 4.38 ERA) will make his 20th start of the season for the Tigers. Through 100 plus innings, Zimmerman has struck out 88 batters and owns a 1.27 WHIP.
The New York Yankees have the second best record in the majors, but are running out of time to catch Boston for the AL East Division title. On Thursday, Giancarlo Stanton became the fifth fastest player in major league history to hit his 300th home run. Gleyber Torres and Luke Voit also went deep for the Yankees, who dropped to eight games behind the Red Sox for first place.

Twenty-four year old righty Luis Severino (17-6 3.27 ERA) is trying to regain his All-Star form for the Yankees. Severino has won consecutive starts and has allowed four runs over his last 10 plus frames.

New York SS Didi Gregorius (heel) took grounders and hit in the cage on Tuesday. Through 134 games, Detroit ranks 25th in batting average and 28th in runs scored. For the season, New York ranks 12th in batting average and 2nd in runs scored. Look for Severino to be sharp and keep this game under the total. Final Score Prediction, New York Yankees win low scoring game 4-2.
