The Detroit Tigers will look to snap a five-game losing streak when they battle the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers have managed just 12 runs during their most recent skid and are eight games below .500 overall. Last night, Detroit collected just seven hits during a 6-0 loss at Minnesota.

2016 Rookie of the Year award winner Michael Fulmer (1-3 4.35 ERA) will get the nod for the Tigers in this matchup. Detroit has lost each of Fulmer’s last three starts and he has allowed 14 runs over his last 16 plus frames.
While the Tigers are struggling, the Minnesota Twins are trending in the opposite direction. The Twins have won three straight games and are just a game behind Cleveland for the AL Central Division lead. On Tuesday, Brian Dozier drove in three runs in support of SP Lance Lynn, who picked up his second victory of the season.

Thirty year old right-hander Kyle Gibson (1-2 3.96 ERA) will make his tenth start of the season for the Twins. Through 50 innings of work, Gibson has struck out 55 batters and owns a respectable 1.32 WHIP.

Detroit 1B Miguel Cabrera (hamstring) took batting practice on Sunday and remains out indefinitely. Through 48 games, Detroit ranks 11th in batting average and 16th in runs scored. For the season, Minnesota ranks 17th in batting average and 26th in runs scored. Take the Tigers to steal the final game of this series. Final Score Prediction, Detroit Tigers win 4-3.
