Oscar Mercado had two hits and scored a run for the Indians, who trail the Twins by five games for the division lead.

Twenty-seven year old righty Adam Plutko (6-4 4.42 ERA) will get the nod for the Indians in the series opener. Through 97 plus innings, Plutko has struck out 66 batters and owns a 1.24 WHIP.
