SP Shane McClanahan (9-3) fanned ten batters in seven innings to earn the win for the Rays (42-36).. 

Twenty-three year old righty Shane Baz (0-1 3.38 ERA) will make his fifth start of the season for the Rays. Through 18 plus innings, Baz has struck out 21 batters and sports a stellar 1.02 WHIP.

The Toronto Blue Jays have won 25 of their first 42 home games and trail AL East Division leading New York by 13.5 games. In the second game of yesterday’s doubleheader, Toronto SP Thomas Hatch was shelled for ten runs and was the losing pitcher during an 11-5 home loss. 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his 19th home run of the season in a losing effort for the Blue Jays (44-35).

The Blue Jays will turn to thirty-two year old righty Ross Stripling (4-2 3.12 ERA) in the series finale. Toronto has won four of Stripling’s previous five starts and he has allowed just five runs total over that stretch. 

Tampa Bay 2B Brandon Lowe (back) has started taking batting practice and is expected to return around the All-Star Break. Through 78 games, Tampa Bay ranks 27th in OPS and 26th in runs scored.
