In Monday night MLB action, the Seattle Mariners will invade the Rogers Centre to face the Toronto Blue Jays. The Mariners (16-19) have lost 12 of their first 19 road games and are seven games off the pace in the AL West Division race. On Sunday, Seattle OF Julio Rodriguez homered as part of a four-hit day during an 8-7 road victory against New York. 

Twenty-seven year old righty Chris Flexen (1-5 4.24 ERA) will make his seventh start of the season for the Mariners. Last time out, Flexen gave up six runs in five innings during a 9-0 home loss versus Philadelphia.

The Toronto Blue Jays have dropped seven of their previous ten games and have fallen 7.5 games behind AL East Division leading New York. On Sunday, Toronto was limited to five hits during a 3-0 road loss against Tampa Bay. SP Alek Manoah (4-1) gave up three runs (1 ER) in six innings and took the loss for the Blue Jays, who fell to 18-17 on the season.

Thirty year old left-hander Yusei Kikuchi (1-1 4.15 ERA) will take the mound to face his former team. Control has been an issue for Kikuchi, who has walked 17 batters across 26 innings of work.

Seattle OF Kyle Lewis (knee) is currently on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma and could make his season debut this week. Through 35 games, Seattle ranks 19th in OPS and 19th in runs scored.
