In Thursday afternoon MLB action, the Seattle Mariners and the Oakland Athletics will wrap up their series from RingCentral Coliseum. The Mariners (83-69) are riding a four-game winning streak and trail New York by 2.5 games in the race for the final AL Wild Card spot. Last night, Kyle Seager and Ty France each went deep to power Seattle to a 4-1 road victory.

All-Star lefty Yusei Kikuchi (7-9 4.32 ERA) will head to the hill for the Mariners in this contest. Seattle has lost Kikuchi’s last three starts and he has given up 10 runs (8 ER) in his last nine plus innings of work.

The Oakland Athletics are three games above .500 at home and have been headed in the wrong direction as of late. During Wednesday's home loss, Oakland managed just four hits and struck out nine times. SP Cole Irvin (11-13) gave up three runs in five innings and took the loss for the Athletics, who fell to 82-70 on the year.

Thirty-two year old righty Chris Bassitt (12-4 3.22 ERA) will come off the injured list to make his first start in over a month. Bassitt, who was struck in the face by a line drive, owns a solid 1.05 WHIP this season.
