The Seattle Mariners play the second game of a three-game series on the road Saturday against the Los Angeles Angels. Seattle improved to 84-69 following a 6-5 victory over the Oakland A's on Thursday. Seattle swept Oakland in its four-game series and has won five straight overall. The Mariners are second in the American League West seven games behind Houston but more importantly are now within two games of the second place New York Yankees in the AL wildcard chase.

The victory snapped a six-game losing streak for the Angels but Los Angeles remains fourth in the American League West 18 games behind the first-place Astros. The Angels continue to struggle on the mound with a 4.73 ERA which is 23rd in baseball.
