AL West Division foes will clash on Monday afternoon, when the Seattle Mariners visit the Los Angeles Angels. The Mariners (80-65) have lost three straight and hold a four-game lead over Baltimore in the race for the final AL Wild Card spot. On Sunday, Seattle went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base during a 5-1 road loss against Los Angeles.

Twenty-five year old righty Logan Gilbert (12-6 3.19 ERA) will take the mound for the Mariners in this matchup. Through 166 plus innings, Gilbert has struck out 156 batters and owns a solid 1.21 WHIP.

SP Reid Detmers (6-5) allowed one run across six solid frames to earn the win for the Angels, who improved to 64-82 on the season.

The Angels will counter with twenty-four year old southpaw Jose Suarez (6-7 3.84 ERA) on Monday. In his last start, Suarez gave up nine hits and three runs in five plus innings during a 3-1 road loss against Cleveland.

Seattle 3B Eugenio Suarez has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a fractured right index finger. Through 145 games, Seattle ranks 16th in OPS and 21st in runs scored. For the season, Los Angeles ranks 26th in OPS and 26th in runs scored. Take the Mariners to win on the road. Final Score Prediction, Seattle Mariners win 5-3.
