The San Francisco Giants open a three-game series on the road Monday against National League West rival the San Diego Padres. San Francisco is 52-55 following its 7-3 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Saturday. Carlos Rodon won for the 10th time this season and the Giants snapped a four-game losing streak. Shortstop Thairo Estrada is batting .262 to lead San Francisco, while left fielder Joc Pederson is the leader in home runs with 17. Second baseman Wilmer Flores is the leader in RBIs with 56, hits with 87 and on-base percentage at .333. On Monday, the San Francisco Giants will send Alex Wood to the mound. The left-hander is 7-9 with a 4.42 ERA, 105 Ks and 26 BBs.

San Diego is 61-49 following its 8-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday. The Padres have lost each of the first two games of their three-game series on the road against the Dodgers. San Francisco has lost seven of its last eight played on the road, while the Padres have won five of their last seven overall. San Francisco starting pitcher Alex Wood is coming off a poor outing in which the left-hander allowed six runs on nine hits across 5 ⅓ innings resulting in a 9-5 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers last Tuesday. San Diego starter Blake Snell has had three consecutive strong outings allowing two runs on 12 hits across 17 Innings resulting in three Padres’ wins.
