San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers 7/21/21 - MLB Picks & Predictions

The final game of the Wednesday MLB schedule will feature a matchup between the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The NL West Division leading Giants (59-35) are seven games above .500 on the road and hold a two-game lead over the Dodgers in the loss column. Last night, San Francisco closer Tyler Rogers blew his fifth save of the season during an 8-6 road loss against Los Angeles.

Twenty-four year old righty Logan Webb (4-3 3.54 ERA) will make his 12th start of the season for the Giants. San Francisco has won Webb’s last five starts and he has allowed just three earned runs over his last 24 innings of work.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have won 30 of their first 45 home games and are charging hard in the NL West Division race. On Tuesday, Will Smith crushed a three-run walkoff blast to send the Los Angeles fans home happy. All-Star SS Chris Taylor homered twice and scored four runs for the Dodgers, who improved to 59-37 on the season.

All-Star left-hander Julio Urias (12-3 3.78 ERA) has picked up the slack on a Los Angeles rotation that has been ravaged by injuries. The Dodgers have won Urias’ last four starts and he has eight runs over his last 24 frames.

San Francisco SS Brandon Crawford has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain. Through 94 games, San Francisco ranks 4th in OPS and 7th in runs scored. For the season, Los Angeles ranks 5th in OPS and 2nd in runs scored. Take the Giants to win on the road. Final Score Prediction, San Francisco Giants 5-3.
