Giants vs Rockies Picks and Prediction – 6/8/2023

The San Francisco Giants continue a road trip in Colorado Thursday night for game three of three against the Colorado Rockies. San Francisco comes into Thursday at an even 30-30 on the year following the six run win in game one of this series. John Brebbia got the start for San Francisco giving up no runs on two hits after just one inning resulting in a no decision. Ryan Walker came on in relief to give up no runs and no hits after just one inning to pick up the victory in the game. Sean Manaea had the longest outing of the game for San Francisco giving up four runs on five hits across 4.2 innings of work but did enough to hold on to the win. The San Francisco bullpen closed the game allowing no runs on two hits over the final 2.1 innings of work.

Offensively, San Francisco hit the ball extremely well with fourteen hits in 39 at bats including six with runners in scoring position to plate ten runs. JD Davis led the way for the San Francisco lineup with one hit in four at bats to drive in three runs and score one as well. Lamont Wade Jr. added three hits in three at bats to drive in two runs, while five different giants drove in one run each.

The Colorado Rockies stay at home Thursday night 10 games below .500 after losing three of the last five including two in a row after dropping game one of this series on Tuesday. Dinelson Lamet took the bump for Colorado giving up three runs on six hits across three innings leading to the loss. The Colorado bullpen was just as bad giving up seven more runs on eight hits over the final six innings of the loss.

Offensively Colorado struggled a bit with just nine hits in 36 at bats including just one with runners in scoring position to leave eight men on base. Jurickson Profar proved to be the leader for the Colorado offense with four hits in five at bats to drive in two of the four Rockies runs. Randal Grichuk and Ryan McMahon chipped in for Colorado as well driving in one run each.
