Historic Wrigley Field will play host to a Wednesday MLB matinee between the San Diego Padres and the Chicago Cubs. Last night, San Diego left five men on base and struck out eight times during a 4-3 road loss against Chicago. SP Ryan Weathers (2-2) gave up four runs in five innings and took the loss for the Padres (34-22).

Twenty-eight year old righty Dinelson Lamet (1-0 2.57 ERA) will make his fifth start of the season for the Padres. Through 14 innings of work, Lamet has struck out 15 batters and owns a subpar 1.50 WHIP.

Chicago manager David Ross will give the nod to right-hander Adbert Alzolay (3-4 3.81 ERA) on Wednesday. Last time out, Alzolay fanned six batters across five plus shutout frames during a 1-0 home victory versus Cincinnati.

Chicago OF Jason Heyward is currently on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain. Through 56 games, San Diego ranks 14th in OPS and 6th in runs scored.
