Royals at Reds 9/25/18 - MLB Picks & Predictions

The Tuesday MLB schedule will get underway with an interleague matchup between the Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds from the Great American Ball Park. On Sunday, SP Brad Keller pitched seven strong innings during a 3-2 victory at Detroit. Cam Gallagher’s two-run single put Kansas City ahead for good.

Twenty-five year old southpaw Eric Skoglund (1-5 5.60 ERA) will make his 12th start of the season for the Royals. Skoglund is winless in his last seven appearances and has given up 19 runs over his last 36 plus innings. The Cincinnati Reds lost 18 of their first 21 games to start the season and have never been able to recover. Cincinnati had Monday off after a ten-game road trip in which they won just three times and scored an abysmal 12 runs total. On Sunday, the Reds managed four hits and committed two errors during a 6-0 loss at Miami.

The Reds will counter with twenty-nine year old righty Matt Harvey (7-9 4.92 ERA) in this matchup. Last time out, Harvey was tagged for seven runs in five plus innings during a 7-0 loss at Milwaukee.

Kansas City SP Danny Duffy (shoulder) has been shut down for the remainder of the season. Through 156 games, Kansas City ranks 18th in batting average and 25th in runs scored. For the season, Cincinnati ranks 8th in batting average and 18th in runs scored. Look for this game to cruise over the total. Final Score Prediction, Cincinnati Reds win 7-5.
