Royals at Rangers 5/26/18 - MLB Picks & Predictions

In Saturday afternoon MLB action, the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers will continue their weekend series from Globe Life Park in Arlington. Last night, SP Eric Skoglund was roughed up for six runs in four plus innings during an 8-4 defeat. Mike Moustakas connected for his 11th home run in a losing effort for the Royals.

Thirty-three year old righty Ian Kennedy (1-5 5.30 ERA) will take the mound for the Royals in this matchup. Kansas City has lost each of Kennedy’s last three starts and he has been tagged for 19 runs over his last 15 plus frames. The Texas Rangers have dropped 32 of their first 53 games and are in last place in the AL West Division. On Friday, SP Mike Minor (4-3) allowed four runs over six frames to earn the victory. Nomar Mazara blasted his 12th home run and drove in three runs to power the Texas offense.

Forty-five year old righty Bartolo Colon (2-2 3.51 ERA) continues to just get better with age. Through 56 plus innings, Colon has struck out 36 batters and owns a sparkling 0.92 WHIP.

Texas SS Elvis Andrus (elbow) has been cleared to swing a bat and hopes to return by the middle of next month. Through 51 games, Kansas City ranks 9th in batting average and 23rd in runs scored. For the season, Texas ranks 29th in batting average and 12th in runs scored. Take Texas to win behind another solid effort from Colon. Final Score Prediction, Texas Rangers win 6-4.
