Two of the worst teams in baseball will square off on Monday night, when the Kansas City Royals travel to Camden Yards to take on the Baltimore Orioles. On Sunday, suffered a 16-hit onslaught during an 11-5 home loss versus the New York Mets. Brett Phillips had two hits and scored twice for the Royals, who lost for the 80th time this season.

Twenty-six year old righty Jorge Lopez (1-7 6.51 ERA) will make his 12th start of the season for the Royals. Control has been an issue for Lopez, who has walked 34 batters and surrendered 18 home runs through 85 plus frames.
The Baltimore Orioles have lost seven straight games and own the second worst record in the majors. Baltimore was swept in Boston over the weekend by a combined 26-8 score in the three games. On Sunday, the Orioles raced out to a six run lead before losing to the Red Sox by a 13-7 final score. Renato Nunez hit a three-run blast to get the scoring started for the Orioles, who lost for the 85th time.

Twenty-six year old southpaw John Means (8-8 3.76 ERA) has been one of the lone bright spots for the Orioles. Means has not been the same since suffering a shoulder injury and has been tagged for 13 runs over his last ten plus innings.

Kansas City SS Adalberto Mondesi (shoulder) is still without a timetable to return. Through 125 games, Kansas City ranks 28th in OPS and 27th in runs scored. For the season, Baltimore ranks 25th in OPS and 26th in runs scored. Look for this game to soar over the total. Final Score Prediction, Baltimore Orioles win 8-6.
