The Sunday MLB schedule will get underway with an interleague clash between the Colorado Rockies and New York Yankees from the Bronx. On Saturday, Colorado SP Antonio Senzatela was rocked for six runs and recorded just four outs during an 11-5 defeat. Nolan Arenado connected on a three-run blast for the Rockies, who have lost six straight.

Twenty-four year old righty German Marquez (8-5 5.12 ERA) will take the mound for the Rockies in this matchup. Colorado has lost Marquez’s last three starts and he has been tagged for 19 runs over his last 14 plus frames. The New York Yankees have won five games in a row and are looking like an unstoppable force. Yesterday, New York 2B D.J. Lemahieu continued raking from the leadoff spot with three hits and two runs scored. Gleyber Torres collected three hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Yankees, who have opened up a 9.5 game lead for first place in the AL East.

The Yankees will counter with hard-throwing southpaw James Paxton (5-4 3.94 ERA) in the series finale. Paxton is winless in his last four starts and has given up 11 runs over his last 22 plus innings of work.

New York OF Giancarlo Stanton (knee) is still not close to returning according to manager Aaron Boone. Through 98 games, Colorado ranks 8th in OPS and 5th in runs scored. For the season, New York ranks 5th in OPS and 2nd in runs scored. Take the Yankees to complete the sweep against a reeling Colorado squad. Final Score Prediction, New York Yankees 7-4.
