Rockies at Dodgers 10/1/18 - MLB Picks & Predictions

The NL West Division crown will be up for grabs on Monday afternoon, when the Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers square off from Dodger Stadium. The Rockies won nine of their last ten games to force a tie with Los Angeles for the division lead. On Sunday, Colorado OF Charlie Blackmon hit for the cycle during an easy 12-0 victory versus Washington.

Twenty-three year old righty German Marquez (14-10 3.76 ERA) will get the nod for the Rockies on Monday. Last time out, Marquez tied a major league record by striking out the first eight batters he faced during a 14-0 victory versus Philadelphia. The Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off a three-game sweep of San Francisco, in which they outscored the Giants by a 28-7 margin. On Sunday, Max Muncy connected on his 34th home run of the year during a 15-0 rout. SP Rich Hill (11-5) did not find out he was starting until the morning of the game and struck out seven batters in seven innings.

Twenty-four year old righty Walker Buehler (7-5 2.76 ERA) will take the mound for the Dodgers in this matchup. Through 130 plus innings, Buehler has struck out 148 batters and sports a sparkling 0.98 WHIP.

Los Angeles SS Corey Seager (hip) is now walking without crutches and hopes to be ready for the 2019 season. Through 162 games, Colorado ranks 6th in batting average and 8th in runs scored. For the season, Los Angeles ranks 16th in batting average and 6th in runs scored. Look for the under to cash. Final Score Prediction, Los Angeles Dodgers win but like the under play here 3-2.
