In Thursday afternoon MLB action, the Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers will conclude their three-game series from Globe Life Park. Last night, Mitch Moreland had four hits and clubbed on of Boston’s four home runs during a convincing 10-3 victory. Rafael Devers connected on his 32nd home run and scored a pair of runs for the Red Sox, who are eight games above .500 overall.
Boston skipper Alex Cora has yet to announce a starting pitcher for this contest. The Red Sox rank 19th in the majors with a 4.67 team ERA and have posted 53 quality starts.
The Texas Rangers are seven games above .500 at home and have failed to qualify for the postseason. On Wednesday, Texas scored all of their runs in the first inning and struck out 11 times. Rougned Odor doubled in a pair of runs and came around to score for the Rangers, who lost for the 83rd time.
Thirty-one year old southpaw Mike Minor (13-10 3.52 ERA) will get the nod for the Rangers in the series finale. Minor has dropped consecutive starts and has been tagged for 13 runs over his last ten innings of work.
