AL East Division rivals will continue their series from Camden Yards, when the Boston Red Sox tangle with the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night. Last night, Brock Holt and Jackie Bradley Jr. hit sacrifice flies to life the Red Sox to a 2-0 victory in 12 innings. Craig Kimbrel struck out the side to lock down his 21st save for Boston, who is in a virtual tie with New York for first place.
Twenty-five year old southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez (7-1 3.68 ERA) will take the mound for the Red Sox in this matchup. Rodriguez has won four straight starts and has allowed five runs over his last 23 plus frames.
The Baltimore Orioles have lost 46 of their first 65 games and own the worst record in the majors. On Monday, slugger Manny Machado (illness) was unable to play and the Orioles managed just five hits. Baltimore SP Dylan Bundy struck out seven batters over eight scoreless innings.
Rookie right-hander David Hess (2-2 3.07 ERA) will make the sixth start of his major league career. Through 29 plus innings, Hess has surrendered six home runs and owns a solid 1.19 WHIP.
