Rays at Orioles 7/14/19 - MLB Picks & Predictions

After splitting a yesterday’s doubleheader, the Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles will wrap up their four game series from Camden Yards on Sunday afternoon. Tampa Bay used a 15-hit attack to run away with a 12-4 victory in the nightcap. Rookie Nate Lowe went deep twice and drove in four runs for the Rays, who trail the Yankees by six full games for the AL East Division lead.

Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash has yet to name a starting pitcher for this matchup. The Rays have plenty of options on a staff that leads the majors with a 3.33 team ERA and has logged 38 quality starts. Fans of the Baltimore Orioles have not had much to cheer about this season, but they did see their team take the opener of yesterday’s doubleheader by a 2-1 final score. Baltimore’s major league worst pitching staff combined to allow just three hits on the afternoon. Stevie Wilkerson’s two run blast in the seventh inning was all the offense that the Orioles would need.

Thirty-two year old righty Andrew Cashner (9-3 3.83 ERA) was scheduled to start for the Baltimore, but was traded to Boston on Saturday. The Orioles will likely go with a tired bullpen that ranks last in the majors with a 6.05 ERA.

Tampa Bay SP Tyler Glasnow (elbow) has been shut down for a couple of weeks and hopes to pitch again this season. Through 94 games, Tampa Bay ranks 18th in OPS and 18th in runs scored. For the season, Baltimore ranks 27th in OPS and 25th in runs scored. Take Tampa Bay to feast on Baltimore pitching on Sunday. Final Score Prediction, Tampa Bay Rays win 7-3.
