Twenty-seven year old southpaw Martin Perez (2-4 7.08 ERA) will make his ninth start of the season for the Rangers. Last time out, Perez allowed one run over six frames during a 6-5 loss versus Oakland. The Arizona Diamondbacks are riding high after completing a three-game sweep in San Diego with a 5-4 victory on Sunday. Paul Goldschmidt connected on his 23rd home run of the season to put Arizona ahead 2-0 in the first innings. Nick Ahmed and A.J. Pollock also went deep for the Diamondbacks, who trail Los Angeles by a half-game for the NL West Division lead.

The Diamondbacks will counter with twenty-six year old lefty Robbie Ray (3-2 4.90 ERA) on Monday. Ray is winless in his last five starts and has given up 18 runs over his last 26 plus frames.
