In Wednesday afternoon MLB action, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies will wrap up their three-game series from Coors Field. Last night, Pittsburgh snapped a three-game losing streak with an easy 10-2 victory over Colorado. SP Jameson Taillon (9-8) allowed ten hits and went the distance for the Pirates, who are two games above .500 overall.

Twenty-nine year old righty Chris Archer (3-5 4.40 ERA) will make his second start as a member of the Pirates. Archer, who was dealt from Tampa Bay, has struck out 108 batters in 100 plus innings. The Colorado Rockies are seven games above .500 overall and right in the middle of a tightly contested NL West Division race. On Tuesday, SP Chad Bettis (5-2) was tagged for nine runs in just four plus innings and took the loss. Carlos Gonzalez doubled in both runs for the Rockies, who trail Arizona by 2.5 games for first place.

The Rockies will counter with twenty-three year old righty German Marquez (9-8 4.70 ERA) on Wednesday. Last time out, Marquez allowed two runs in seven innings during a 5-3 loss at Milwaukee.

Pittsburgh SP Chad Kuhl (arm) was transferred from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. Through 114 games, Pittsburgh ranks 9th in batting average and 16th in runs scored.
