NL Central Division foes will battle on Saturday afternoon, when the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds continue their three-game series from the Great American Ball Park. Last night, Colin Moran homered and drove in three runs to power Pittsburgh to an 8-4 victory. Starling Marte scored three runs for the Pirates, who are three games above .500 overall.

Twenty-six year old righty Jameson Taillon (14-9 3.19 ERA) has developed into a front line starter for the Pirates. Pittsburgh has won each of Taillon’s last seven starts and he has allowed just eight total runs over that stretch. The Cincinnati Reds have lost six straight games and are limping to the finish line of the regular season. On Friday, SP Anthony DeSclafani took the loss after allowing three runs in five innings of work. Eugenio Suarez connected on his 33rd home run as part of a three-hit evening for the Reds, who lost their 94th game.

The Reds will turn to twenty-six year old righty Michael Lorenzen (3-2 3.35 ERA) to make his third start of the season. Through 75 plus innings, Lorenzen has allowed just six home runs and owns a 1.39 WHIP.

Pittsburgh SP Joe Musgrove has been shut down for the remainder of the season with an abdominal injury. Through 159 games, Pittsburgh ranks 11th in batting average and 20th in runs scored. For the season, Cincinnati ranks 8th in batting average and 18th in runs scored. Take Pittsburgh to continue their strong finish to the season with a win on Saturday.
