The Pittsburgh Pirates play the second game of a three-game opening series on the road Saturday against the Cincinnati Reds. The Pirates lost on opening day to the Reds 5-3. Jung Ho Kang knocked in two runs for the Pirates in the loss with a single in the sixth. Lonnie Chisenhall was placed on the injury list prior to the game with a broken finger, while Starling Marte did not play due to a migraine.

Cincinnati rallied to beat Pittsburgh thanks to a Derek Dietrich pinch-hit three-run blast during the bottom of the seventh inning. Jose Iglesias had a pair of doubles and one RBI, while Jose Peraza homered for the Reds. Zach Duke retired the final two batter to gain the save. Jung Ho Kang is leading the Pirates with a batting average of .333 and in RBIs with two, while Corey Dickerson is the leader in home runs with one. The Pirates are batting .161 while opponents are averaging .226. Pittsburgh will send Trevor Williams to the mound on Saturday. Jose Peraza leads the Reds with a .500 batting average. Derek Dietrich is the home run leader with one and RBIs leader with three. Jose Iglesias leads the Reds in hits with two. Cincinnati is batting .226 while opponents are averaging .161. Cincinnati will start Sonny Gray on the mound on Saturday. The right-hander in 2018 with the Yankees was 11-9 with an ERA of 4.90, 123 Ks and 57 BBs.

Pittsburgh has a depleted squad to start the season as Gregory Polanco is rehabbing his shoulder and Lonnie Chisnehall has a broken finger making the outfield very thin. The Pirates lack in power as well, as Polanco led the team last season in home runs but does not return until May. Cincinnati jumped out to a strong start and will make it 2-0 after their second game on Saturday. Final Score Prediction, Cincinnati Reds win 6-2.
