The Pirates are coming into this game sitting 13.5 games back from the division leader in the NL Central, but they are very close to the five hundred mark and potentially could end up finishing over the five hundred mark on the year. The Braves on the other hand are in a battle in the NL East for the lead and they are sitting 3.5 games over the Phillies right now.

Leading the Pirates when it comes to hitting is Corey Dickerson who is hitting at a clip of .297. When it comes to the power hitting the leader for the Pirates has been Gregory Polanco who has hit a total of 21 homers and driven in 74 RBI's.

The Braves have relied on Nick Markakis who has managed to hit at a clip of .310 and hit 14 homers on the year while driving in 83 runs. The leading power hitter for the Braves is Ozzie Albies who has managed to hit a total of 21 homers. Jameson Taillon is the pitcher the Pirates are sending to the mound. Taillon has been able to throw a total of 152 innings while striking out 139 batters. He has posted a 10-9 record with a 3.49 ERA.

The Braves are countering with Anibal Sanchez. Sanchez has been able to throw a total of 103.1 innings and struck out 100 batters on the year. He has managed to post a 6-5 record and has a 3.05 ERA.

The Braves have a lot better offense on the year and the pitching staff with the Braves is quite a bit stronger than the Pirates. The Pirates have struggled quite a bit and if Polanco is shut down, since he only hits at .248 it is easy to do, the Pirates will lose the game as the Braves pitching can be a shut down staff. Final Score Prediction, Atlanta Brave win 5-2.
