In Thursday afternoon MLB action, the Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies will complete their four-game series from Coors Field. Last night, SP Nick Pivetta was tagged for six runs in four plus innings of a 14-0 defeat. Philadelphia has dropped seven games in a row and have been eliminated from postseason contention.

Thirty-two year old righty Jake Arrieta (10-10 3.94 ERA) will make his final start of the season for the Phillies. Arrieta is winless in his last three starts and has given up 11 runs over his last 12 frames. The Colorado Rockies have won six straight games and are the hottest team in the majors heading into the postseason. On Wednesday, David Dahl connected on a three-run blast as part of a seven-run fifth inning to spark the Rockies. SP German Marquez struck out 11 batters in seven innings for Colorado, who has moved into a tie with Los Angeles for the NL West Division lead.

The Rockies will counter with twenty-three year old righty Antonio Senzatela (6-6 4.52 ERA) on Thursday. Senzatela has won consecutive starts and has allowed just two runs over his last 12 innings of work.

Colorado SP Tyler Anderson (shoulder) was scratched from Monday’s start and is scheduled to start later this week. Through 158 games, Philadelphia ranks 27th in batting average and 22nd in runs scored. For the season, Colorado ranks 7th in batting average and 10th in runs scored. Take Colorado to continue their torrid finish to the season. Final Score Prediction, Colorado Rockies win 6-4.
