The Philadelphia Phillies will again be in St. Louis Saturday night for Game 2 of the NL Wild Card against the St. Louis Cardinals. Philadelphia comes into game two up one game following the win on Friday. Zack Wheeler got the start for Philadelphia giving up no runs on two hits across 6.1 innings of work leading to a no decision. 

Offensively Philadelphia struggled from the plate with only five hits and 32 at bats but hits with runners in scoring position led to six runs in the game. Jean Segura provided the biggest spark for the Philadelphia offense with a two run single in the ninth inning to give Philadelphia the lead, while four other Phillies drove in one run each.

The St. Louis Cardinals will again be at home Saturday night in a must win situation after blowing the lead in the ninth inning on Friday. Jose Quintana got the start for St. Louis giving up no runs on two hits across 5.1 innings of work leading to a no decision. The St. Louis bullpen held true before Ryan Helsley came on in relief to allow four runs on one hit across one inning leading to the loss.

Offensively the Cardinals were mediocre from the plate with only five hits and 31 at bats but one hit with runners in scoring position led to three runs. Juan Yepez led the way for the Cardinals offense with a two run pinch hit home run in the seventh inning, while Nolan Gorman drove in one run as well.

The St. Louis Cardinals come into Saturday with their backs against the wall and they must win situation. Look for the Cardinals to bounce back Saturday night at home as they will have the better pitcher and home fans on their side.
