A quick two-game interleague set will get underway on Tuesday night, when the San Diego Padres visit Camden Yards to face the Baltimore Orioles. The Padres had yesterday off to lick their wounds from a three-game sweep in Pittsburgh over the weekend. San Diego was outscored 19-14 over the three tightly contested losses and are two games below .500 overall.

Rookie left-hander Logan Allen (1-0 0.00 ERA) will make his second career major league start for the Padres. In his first start, Allen allowed three hits and struck out five batters during a 4-1 home victory versus Milwaukee. The Baltimore Orioles have lost 28 of their 37 home games and own the worst overall record in the majors. The Orioles return home after winning just one game during a seven-game road trip at Oakland and Seattle. Trey Mancini leads Baltimore with a .305 batting average and 17 home runs, while Dwight Smith has driven in a team high 42 runs.

Twenty-four year old southpaw Josh Rogers (0-1 8.25 ERA) will take the mound for the Orioles in this matchup. Through 23 plus career major league innings, Rogers has surrendered seven home runs and owns a 1.69 WHIP.

Baltimore DH Mark Trumbo (knee) has been shut down and there is a possibility that he will not return this season. Through 78 games, San Diego ranks 20th in OPS and 21st in runs scored. For the season, Baltimore ranks 26th in OPS and 27th in runs scored. Look for the over to cash in the series opener. Final Score Prediction, San Diego Padres 8-5.
