The Washington Nationals have gotten off to a slow start and haven’t hit full stride this season. Over the weekend, the Nationals were swept by visiting Los Angeles by a 16-7 combined score in the three games. On Sunday, Washington was defeated by a 7-2 final score and fell to three games above .500 overall.
The Nationals will counter with thirty-one year old righty Jeremy Hellickson (1-0 2.20 ERA) on Monday. Washington has won each of Hellickson’s last three starts and he has given up just one run over his last 17 plus frames.
