Padres at Marlins 6/10/18 - MLB Picks & Predictions

In Sunday afternoon MLB action, the San Diego Padres and Miami Marlins will wrap up their weekend series from Marlins Park. On Saturday, Travis Jankowski hit a go-ahead bases loaded single in the eighth inning to lift the Padres to a 5-4 victory. San Diego is six games below .500 overall and five games behind Arizona for the NL West Division lead.

Thirty-four year old southpaw Clayton Richard (4-6 4.67 ERA) will take the mound for the Padres in this matchup. San Diego has won each of Richard’s last two starts and he has allowed five runs over his last 14 frames. The Miami Marlins have dropped seven of their last ten games and are in last place in the NL East Division standings. Miami took the series opener by a 4-0 final score but managed just seven hits during Saturday’s loss. Derek Dietrich homered and drove in two runs for the Marlins, who are 18 games below .500 overall.

Twenty-six year old righty Jose Urena (1-7 4.60 ERA) will head to the hill for the Marlins on Sunday. Through 74 plus innings this season, Urena has fanned 61 batters and owns a 1.24 WHIP.

San Diego 1B/OF Wil Myers (oblique) is hoping to be activated from the disabled list in early July. Through 66 games, San Diego ranks 24th in batting average and 23rd in runs scored. For the season, Miami ranks 23rd in batting average and 30th in runs scored. Take the under on Sunday. Final Score Prediction, Miami Marlins win low scoring game 3-2.
