The Tuesday MLB schedule will get underway with a matchup between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees from the Bronx. In Game One of Monday’s doubleheader, Baltimore SP Gabriel Ynoa surrendered four home runs in six innings during an 8-5 loss against New York. Trey Mancini connected on his 28th round tripper in a losing effort for the Orioles.

Talented left-hander John Means (8-7 3.36 ERA) has been one of the lone bright spots for the Orioles this season. Through 101 plus innings, Means has struck out 83 batters and sports a solid 1.16 WHIP.
The New York Yankees have won 45 of their 63 home games and are running away with the AL East Division. In the nightcap of yesterday’s doubleheader, SS Gleyber Torres clubbed two home runs and drove in six runs to power New York to an 11-8 victory. Gio Urshela collected three hits and scored twice for the Yankees, who extended their lead to 9.5 games over idle Tampa Bay.

The Yankees will turn to twenty-seven year old righty Domingo German (15-2 4.05 ERA) on Tuesday. German has solved the control issues that have plagued him in the past and walked just 25 batters through 109 innings this year.

New York 1B Luke Voit (hernia) is scheduled to hit on Tuesday and could return by early next month. Through 119 games, Baltimore ranks 25th in OPS and 27th in runs scored. For the season, New York ranks 3rd in OPS and 1st in runs scored. The bullpens could use a rest and these starting pitchers have the ability to pitch deep into the game. Final Score Prediction, New York Yankees win 5-3.
