New York Yankees at Cleveland Guardians 10/16/22 - MLB Picks & Predictions

On Sunday, the New York Yankees will play Game 4 of their best-of-five American League Division Series on the road against the Cleveland Indians. New York trails in the series 2-1 after losing on Saturday 6-5 in Game 3. New York is on the brink of elimination as the Yankees must win each of the final two games of the series or be eliminated from the postseason. In Saturday's loss, Aaron Judge, Harrison Bader and Oswaldo Cabrera each hit home runs for the Yankees

New York's Isiah Kiner-Falefa has the best batting average in the postseason at .273. Harrison Bader had a team high two home runs and five players including Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton have a team-high two RBIs. On Sunday, the New York Yankees will send Gerrit Cole to the mound. Cole defeated Cleveland in the opening game of the series on Tuesday 4-1, after allowing one run on four hits across 6 ⅓ innings while striking out eight and walking one.

Cleveland is on the verge of reaching the American League Championship Series, after Oscar Gonzalez hit a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Indians the walk-off victory. Cleveland trailed 5-3 entering the bottom of the ninth before rallying for three runs to win. Cleveland must win at home on Sunday or on the road in Game 5 to move on and play Houston in the ALCS.

Third baseman Jose Ramirez is leading Cleveland in batting average at .348 and is tied for the lead in home runs with one. Oscar Gonzalez is the leader in RBIs with four. Ramirez has a team-high eight hits in the postseason. Gonzalez, Steven Kwan and Amed Rosario each have one home run apiece. On Sunday, Cleveland will send Cal Quantrill to the mound. The right-hander lost the opening game of the series last Tuesday 4-1 after allowing four runs across five innings.

New York, behind the pitching of Gerrit Cole, will win Game 4 on the road Sunday against Cleveland, but the play here is UNDER. The UNDER has cashed in four of New York's last five as well as in four of Cleveland's last five. The UNDER has cashed in three of the last four meetings head to head between New York and Cleveland. During the postseason, New York has a team ERA of just 3.38 while Cleveland's ERA is 1.94. Final Score Prediction, New York Yankees win but our best play is UNDER 3-2.
