The Thursday MLB schedule will get underway with a matinee between the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles from Camden Yards. The Yankees (28-9) are riding a four-game winning streak and own the best overall record in the majors. Last night, SP Gerrit Cole (4-0) gave up two runs in seven innings to lead New York to a 3-2 road victory against Baltimore. 

Twenty-nine year old southpaw Jordan Montgomery (0-1 3.06 ERA) will make his eighth start of the season. The Yankees have lost Montgomery’s last two starts and he has given up four runs over his last ten plus frames.

The Baltimore Orioles are looking to snap a six-game losing streak and have fallen into the AL East Division basement. On Wednesday, Baltimore OF Austin Hays collected three hits and drove in a run with a sixth inning double. SP Jordan Lyles (2-4) allowed three runs (2 ER) across seven solid frames and was the hard luck loser for the Orioles, who dropped to ten games below .500 overall.

Twenty-seven year old left-hander Bruce Zimmerman (2-2 2.72 ERA) has pitched well for the Orioles. Through 36 plus innings, Zimmerman has struck out 32 batters and owns a solid 1.21 WHIP.

Baltimore 1B Ryan Mountcastle (wrist) is expected to return from the 10-day injured list on Saturday. Through 37 games, New York ranks 1st in OPS and 4th in runs scored.
