On Saturday, the New York Mets play the second game of a three-game series on the road versus the Miami Marlins. New York is 87-51 following its 10-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday. New York swept a doubleheader from the Pirates after winning the opener 5-1. New York is first in the National League East, but just a half-game ahead of the Atlanta Braves.

Second baseman Jeff McNeil is batting .318 to lead New York and has a team high 141 hits. First baseman Pete Alonso is the leader in home runs with 32 and RBIs with 160, while left fielder Mark Canha is the leader in on-base percentage at .369. On Saturday, the New York Mets will send Carlos Carrasco to the mound. The right-hander is 13-6 with a 3.91 ERA, 126 Ks and 35 BBs.

Miami improved to 56-80 following its 6-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. Brian Anderson hit an RBI single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Marlins ahead for good following an error by Philadelphia's Rhys Hoskins that allowed the Marlins to tie the score. Miami is fourth in the National League East, 30 games behind the first-place Mets.

First baseman Garrett Cooper is batting .255 to lead Miami and has team highs in hits with 93, RBIs with 43 and on-base percentage at .332. Copper is tied with four others for the lead in home runs with seven. On Saturday, the Miami Marlins will send Pablo Lopez to the mound. The right-hander is 8-9 with a 3.66 ERA, 149 Ks and 46 BBs. 

Miami has struggled all season and the Marlins have lost nine of the last 10, as well as losing six of the last seven played at home.
