Thirty-four year old righty Carlos Carrasco (0-1 10.32 ERA) will make his fifth start of the season for the Mets. Last time out, Carrasco was tagged for six runs and recorded just six outs during a 14-4 home loss versus Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have won 40 of their first 60 home games and trail San Francisco by 2.5 games for the best overall record in the majors. During Thursday's victory, 2B Trea Turner had two hits and drove in a run to spark the Los Angeles offense. Billy McKinney contributed a pinch hit double and scored a run for the Dodgers, who improved to 76-46 on the year.
The Dodgers will counter with All-Star righty Walker Buehler (12-2 2.09 ERA) on Friday. Through 154 plus innings, Buehler has struck out 162 batters and ranks fourth in the National League with a 0.94 WHIP.
