The New York Mets go back on the road Saturday night out West to Phoenix, AZ to take on the Arizona Diamondbacks. New York comes into Saturday rolling through the first part of the year at 10-4 overall after winning four of the last five games played including a 6-2 win over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. Carlos Carrasco got the start for New York against San Francisco giving up two runs on four hits across 7.2 innings of work leading to the victory.

Offensively New York did just enough going 12-34 at the plate as a team but went 2-9 with runners in scoring position to leave 12 men on base. Mark Canha led the way for the Mets going 2-4 on the day to drive in two of the six New York runs. Francisco Lindor chipped in with one RBI on three hits including his fourth home run of the season as well.

The Arizona Diamondbacks go back home Saturday riding a two game win streak after a 4-3 win over the Washington Nationals. Cooper Hummel shined in the leadoff spot for Arizona going 2-5 on the day including his second home run of the year to drive in two of the four Arizona runs.

Seth Beer is the top bat in the Arizona offense batting .400 on the year to go along with a team high 14 hits and a team leading 8 RBI’s. Daulton Varsho leads the team with three home runs and Pavin Smith both a team high .349 OBP.
